DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD EXPEDITION
On Friday 3rd May a group of Year 9 students set off on their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award Expedition. The groups walked from Danbury to Wickham Bishops, setting up camp overnight and trekking on to Great Leighs on the Saturday. The weather was torrential rain all day on Friday and the students and staff got completely drenched, but they had a clear evening and enjoyed S'mores and hot chocolate round the campfire after cooking their own dinner. The second day of walking was brighter and the groups used their map-reading skills to walk from Wickham Bishops to Great Leighs. With only a few (!) wrong turns between them, they all arrived back safely to the meeting point.
