Year 6 Induction Day - Update 13-07-2021
In light of rising cases of Covid-19 in the local community, which regrettably have impacted us here at Alec Hunter Academy, we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel our revised Induction Day, which was planned for Thursday 22nd July. Positive cases within the school community has led to a significant number of our students having to self-isolate and we are keen to reduce further cases by limiting the number of people we allow into the school.
A letter from our Headteacher, Mr Lawn is being prepared and will detail our revised plans and provide further information relating to arrangements for the start of term including onsite testing for new Year 7 students.
Our plans for the Year 6-7 Summer School are unaffected and a letter will be sent to parents and students next week, confirming sessions which have been reserved as well as important information. It is anticipated that from the 16th August, if Step 4 of the Government roadmap goes ahead, there will no longer be any rules around the self-isolation of close contacts for children under 18 and this should make things less problematic.
