Lynne Pembroke is an independent careers advisor employed by Directions IAG Ltd. She will be meeting up with you in an assembly where she will be trying to get you to think about what you want from your future.

It isn’t too soon to start...
...learning new skills and about the world of work. The sooner you start the more you'll be ready to make decisions in the future about your learning and career plans – the career you choose will affect:
- Your lifestyle and income
- Your outlook on life
- The friends you make
Careers lessons and information in school, as well as help and advice from your careers adviser will help you get ready to make these decisions as you progress through your time at Alec Hunter Academy.
Raising the Participation Age (RPA)
It is a government requirement that young people stay in some form of education or training until their 18th birthday, more information can be found here. This can be any of the following:
- Sixth Form
- Further Education College
- Apprenticeships / Traineeships
- Employment (with training)
- Volunteering (with training)
